Where are the best local Hiking Trails in USA? How many local USA Hiking Trails are there and what kind of terrain is covered?

Trails Hiking USA

I know there are many of hiking trails in the united states. One of the major ones is the appellation trail that extends from Georgia to Vermont. I would like to hike part of it some day. I know that there are other hiking trails in many other states. I would not mind someday hiking some of them.

The Appalachian Trail is on my bucket list. I might have to break it up over a few years because it is hard to get away long enough to do it all at once. That is such beautiful country that it covers. I love to get away into the wilderness. I don't know about being gone for months though *wink*.

Yes, the Appalachian Trail is incredible. I've walked parts of it. I'd like to do it all too but I'm not sure my work would appreciate me being gone for four or five months. There are some crazy trails out west, like at the Grand Csnyon, Yellowstone, Big Bend, etc. But I'd need to get into shape for them. I'm in Appalachian shape, not so much for the western ones.

I am not in great shape but with my outdoor skills and all I can do day trips. Due to my disabilities I need to be in a place where I have electricity to be able to sleep. It is a downfall I know. But I do wish to go hiking more someday soon.
