While it is not unheard of to have bounty hunters in Iowa it is not a common practice. I have thought of becoming a bounty hunter to bring those who skip on their bail in but I really dislike the possibility of getting shot. While this is not a common thing it can still happen.
The fact that there is no biig name bounty hunter in the state of Iowa shows that it is not a common practice and I am not sure just how many actual bounty hunters are in the state of Iowa. One of the biggest parts that makes bounty hunters question whether they want to be a bounty hunter in Iowa is the following quote. "It is noted that Iowa law prohibits bail enforcement agents from physically harming bail jumpers who have the right to sue the bounty hunter and/or bail bonds company." So if the person who bailed on their bond resists arrest you have to let them go so you do not harm them or face a possible lawsuit. Thus making a bounty hunters job harder.
