That viewpoint is absurd. It created a nation which recognized God, and fundamental rights given man by that God, while protecting each man's right to worship God as he saw fit.

That's why democracies are scary. They allow idiots to vote as well as the smart people.

America is waking up ! Well I'm sure the ACLU isn't gonna like this but ... And for those of you who think this great nation and Constitution wasn't founded and signed with intentions your sadly mistaken. In fact, our Constitution does reference "the year of our Lord" so that, should the Messiah return as prophesied within The Holy Bible, he would not be crucified again ...or tazed in the "Land of the Free".
As with some things for clear understanding you need to read it objectively. For the Constitution of the United States where written "...the year of our Lord, seventeen hundred eighty seven..." is a direct reference from the New Testament in light... if you do not believe Moses, you will not believe me, and The Ten Commandments, and The Golden Rule.

QUOTE
"Be afraid ACLU. Be very afraid. Morris packs The Christian Life and Character with page after page of original source material making the case that America was founded as a Christian nation. The evidence is unanswerable and irrefutable. This 1000-page book will astound you and send enemies of Christianity into shock. Keep in mind that it was published in 1864 and has been out of print for more than a century. It has been newly typeset using a very readable font and added subheads. A new Foreword written by my long-time friend Dr. Archie Jones describes the background of the book and provides a brief biography of the author."-Gary DeMar

America Won't Be Good without God
By Dennis Prager

On page 563 of his latest biography - John Quincy Adams: American Visionary - author Fred Kaplan (Biographer of Abraham Lincoln, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, and Gore Vidal among others) cites this insight of the sixth president:

Christianity had, all in all, he believed, been a civilizing force, "checking and controlling the anti-social passions of man." Ref. Source 9
