There is a lot to be said about showing your child how to drink or drive or eat. Most cannot handle alcohol it handles them. If you are like me and have issue in that then why not just abstain. A good friend handles alcohol well he has one drink or two nad thats it. My children see them drink when we visit my wife might partake a small spritzer. I do not my son asked why and I told him because one is never enough and being a drunken twit serves me little and you less.
If we adults use thing in a responsible manner and tell our children why we do what we do they are far less likely to end up passed out raped on a street corner.
The only thing that made me laugh when I read this was the singling out of Northern Ireland. Go visit the rest of Ireland, Scotland or England for that matter and check out the binging. If there is a football/soccer game going on that day, I do believe that the amount of available alcohol dips to dangerously low levels by nights end in any of those places.
