ICon, just want to make sure, but Zero will try to listen to the conversation without actually moving past the threshold of the door? Without walking through the door, not yet anyway, correct?
If so, add a Perception roll with what else you are rolling, if you haven't already. The door isn't sound proof, but a bad roll could mean that he misses part of the conversation. Having the door ajar may help, which can be treated as part of the Stealth roll. Edited: Thomaslee on 9th Mar, 2016 - 12:27pm
He didn't want to pass the door, but he might consider it if he can't hear anything. I hope it doesn't come off a metagaming to avoid the magical effect, but I do think it's reasonable.
Though unless Zero enters, Mythos won't repeat himself if anything is missed, not until we have our captain of the sea enter.
It will be revealed with my next post anyway, but I will offer the spell is harmless. I'll allow you character to do what he is doing, just it seems clear he doesn't want others to know he is there.
ICon, may I ask the purpose or point of all this hiding and sneaking around is? If he goes off to hide he won't hear what is being talked about, and it would be easier just to have him walk into the room and learn of the adventure like everyone else.
Still, if that is what you want to do I won't stop you, just curious of what your plan or goal was.
Deep down Zero is not confident enough in his own skills and thinks everyone will view him for a child, which is his view of himself due to his lack of cutiemark. He snuck in pretending to be a new student or apprentice, and doesn't want to be actually confused for one. He is more interested in following the pair (Now three) to observe and at some point aid in their adventure.
Even in disguise, he fears that the meeting may take too long and the illusion will fall or he may be tasked with some mundane task. And of course, he can't stay in the school. So far only one staff member knows of his existence and he intends to keep it that way. Even if it causes a security breach, he has attained his goal and overheard at least some information.
If there's nowhere to hide, he may have to leave and follow the others after they exit the building.
Actually, it just occurred to me, while the illusion is up he could research the keywords he heard. So long as he doesn't lose track of the others. The only issue is by default that takes a minimum of 1 hour.
Thanks for explain that, I will see if I can help you keep this up where I can.
Could you roll another Stealth and Perception in this thread? That way I can add the results to my next post and he can more likely find a hiding place before being caught. Edited: Thomaslee on 15th Mar, 2016 - 2:19pm
