Zero would add, "I hope they do not think themselves better than us, just because they were chosen. Well, 'night."
As the colt headed to his cabin he did not see the tiny figure floating in the darkness giving chase to the airship. Once the door was closed, Zero unpacked a few things and hit the hay. He lay awake, planning ahead, but eventually sleep found him.
Outside, on the aft deck, a lone barn owl perched on the rail and observed.
On awaking, Zero would feel a shaking and jolting of the ship along with canon fire from above. Azure was near the colt's bed calling for him to walk up saying, "Zero, Zero, we are under attack! Get up!" The door was open and from without he could see a yellow, gold coated stallion putting on some chainmail and with a longsword by his side.
---------------
Golden Dawn had awaken only a few moments before, not even having time to mediate or exercise because of the attack. Yet always really he would begin preparations for a fight, planning on finding Marble and Aquamarine to see what either of them knew about what was going on. Under his breath he says a short prayer, "Celestia protect and watch over us."
Out of Character: Roll both for Initiative and Dexterity, which will be used later. Also check Role-playing Game Rules, Create Character thread, I would like to discuss the owl and ship combat rules. Also, will be making rolls for NPCs.
Zero felt a bit groggy in the morning, but with a rush of adrenaline, he forced himself up and began donning his combat gear.
Azure heads out the door, Golden looking over to see him and Zero before nodding. Time for introductions can wait for another date.
As the three head up to the deck and towards the bow if the ship, towards the front, they see another ship coming along their starboard side. It was an airship, much like the Evening Dream, yet clearly a mercenary vessel in design.
Cannons were firing, the balls hitting again their ship though the runes were offering some additional protection. The event ship was currently moving more quickly, though this could in part be as they attacked first with suprise.
Zero was able to barely keep their balance, as were most of others though Sly and Marble did lose their balance we for a moment and had to steady themselves. Scarlet, Lightning, and Star was there with Aquamarine at the helm giving orders to other crew members. The question that could be asked is what can the colt do to help.
Zero's first thoughts were to protect himself, so he cast the Mage Armor he had prepared yesterday then drew a wand to cast Shield. At the moment he tries to stay out of other ponies' way until given an instruction.
Aquamarine, on seeing the colt, offers a look of suprise and confusion on recognizing Zero but given the situation at hoof she focuses her attention on what is important and nods to Marble who says, "Let's go to the cannons, do not let them get on board!"
With such Azure directs Zero to one of the canons before instructing him on how to use it as the Captain offers directions elsewhere, though with the hits and sharp turns being made the ship was a bit unsteady underhoof.
(Dexterity check, make an attack roll as a level 1 fighter, and roll 1d8 for damage.).

Zero has no time to think as he just follows his orders, loading and firing. Once he's shot, he pauses and shouts, "Who are we firing at anyway?"
Out of Character: If it counts as a ranged attack, you should add 5, but I don't know if you want to include a non-proficiency penalty.
The colt was able to stay steady though the shot he fired barely hit its target a steadier shot would hit better. Other cannon shots were hitting, a few at least, on both sides.
To his question Azure would answer, " A mercenary group called Grim Claws, though many would call them pirates. Most of the crew are griffons, led by a fierce griffoness.
(You may try again, Attack and Damage rolls though with the -5 non-weapon penality. My apologizes for the delay.).
