The doors were too thick and there was nowhere to hide. A set of lamps inexplicably turned off would be suspicious, if Zero could even manage to douse them. A spell to create darkness would be a waste, undoubtedly it would be overpowered by the multitude of lights. So instead, Zero left the doorway to see if he could find somewhere to hide, but keep the door in sight.

In Character: Aquamarine cursed the twisting, byzantine halls of the school, finally making her way to the Professor's door.

Two quick raps at the door is all the warning she will give before throwing open the door.

If it's locked, she'll ineffectually slam into the door, cough, and ask to be let in.

If it gives way, Aquamarine will barge in. "Professor Grey! I, Aquamarine, am at your service and disposal! I promise you, sir, that there is no pony more- wait, who are all you?"

And The Storyteller says...

Zero would notice, a detail missed last time, an open door into a classroom not far from where the Professor Mythos' was. More, when he peeked within the classroom would be dark and empty. Better still, it allowed for a good view the door that he wanted to watch and all who would enter or leave. For the moment the colt was safe, and would be able to stay hidden from any who might find him.

He would soon see that he had made found a hiding place just in time, as Aquamarine would appear in the hall not seconds after he went inside, thus allowing the colt not to be revealed. When she entered Zero would see a glimpse of a grey stallion which could only be Mythos himself, along with Lightening and Star. As luck would have it, the door would not shut all the way and move back open a bit… allowing him to possibly see and even somewhat hear what would happen next.
Out of Character: I'm going to treat Forderz's Perception roll as a miss, though it was high, since ICon's Stealth roll was higher.

Mythos would look in surprise as the mare burst in, though this would grow to a small look of amusement at her matter of entrance. Aquamarine would feel the magic of a spell move over her body as she passed through the doorway.

The grey unicorn would offer a bow of his head before replying, “Greetings, glad that you could be here. I am Professor Mythos Gray. These with me are Lightening Strike and Star Walker. They will be your companions in this journey, if you all agree to go on it.” Suspecting she might ask he would continue, “that spell you felt was an anti-changeling measure, my apologies for that.” He would take a moment to briefly bring Aquamarine up to date on what had already been said and on the Crucible of Stars itself.

Turning back to the others, having heard what they said the professor would reply to Star, “Yes, finding it before it is found by another for ill and evil use is a big part of why I seek the Crucible. It could be used to possibly give power to or even resurrect Nightmare Moon, even have it that in Luna becomes lost… or used for a mad grab of power from one wishing to shake things up with an artifact forged from it.” Looking to Lightening and Aquamarine he would continue, “Though there is more to it then that.”

“In this case I seek the truth, feeling that with proper understanding of what actually happened and knowledge of the key aspects of the story would make it of greater worth,” Mythos would offer looking from each of the three ponies, and requesting, "May I explain in more detail? Both of my intent and the theory I have come up with."

Aquamarine frowned. "You're awfully trusting, Professor. You put an open imvitation for this venture. Who's to say that one of us isn't a member of the very cult working against you?" She looked sideways at her two future compatriots. "A changeling detection spell won't reveal more traditional deception. There are many that could vouch for my character and good standing here in Canterlot. Can you two claim the same?

Zero thanked the Sisters for his luck as he slid into the room, just in time. This vantage point was great, and he observed the conversation in the other room, while still being wary a class could start in this room at any minute.

The topic was intriguing and the artifact seemed powerful. No wonder he had never read of such an important secret. He was glad Mr Gray was presenting more questions, each one a new opportunity for Zero to learn.

Star Walker nods and listens intently to the information Mythos wishes to reveal, then tilts his head at Aquamarine. "I've never seen you before, and mistrust tends to come from those both untrusting and untrustworthy." He shrugs, however. "I do understand your point though. Mistrust also comes from those with reasons to be cynical. You must have been through a lot, endured hardships or at least annoyances, and you are right to be concerned considering everything going on… "

" I have done much for Canterlot, and there are many who can vouch for me as well. I am sorry for losing my cool for a moment. I guess a pet peeve of mine is being thought of as dishonest. Or being judged at first glance."

Aquamarine made a mental note to never let this Star stallion anywhere near a game of dice, unless she was running the table.

"I've been called far worse than untrustworthy in my time. In my experience, a small investment in cautionary prudence never loses a mare her bits." Aquamarine turned to her other future companion. "And you? Are you a cynic or a saint?"

"A bit of both," Lightning Strike admitted with an inclination of his head toward Aquamarine. "I hope for the best, but tend to encounter the worst. If you would care for a character reference, I believe the head groundskeeper of the Canterlot Gardens would have kind words to say on my behalf. Those kind words would pale, of course, to the importance of the spells that have been cast upon us to get this far, which as you no doubt know, have checked both our moral fiber and bodily integrity. That doesn't mean that I couldn't be here under some form of false pretenses, but unless Professor Mythos can forge absolutely loyal automatons to undertake this mission for him, a bit of uncertainty is inevitable."

He raised a hoof toward her, "I am known as Lightning Strike, and apologize if my presence here is causing you discomfort."
