Kidnapped Avita Bissoondatt will be freed if her family pays a ransom of $300,000.
The demand was made in a call to the family Tuesday night, the Express was told yesterday.
Bissoondatt, 22, lives with her grandmother at Soledad Road, Lange Park, Chaguanas.
She vanished last Saturday evening after leaving home to meet a friend, Shanice Ramcharan, at the Price Plaza mall at Endeavor, Chaguanas.
Ramcharan, 22, who has an apartment in St Augustine and is originally from Caura Royal Road, Tunapuna, has also not contacted her mother since Sunday, and made no contact with the police despite media reports of her disappearance.
Police said a female friend of Bissoondatt is the key to solving the case of the missing girls, who were last known to be somewhere on the Caroni Savannah Road.
