The family of kidnapped businessman Naail Ali, a captive now for two weeks, were allowed to speak with him briefly Tuesday night, the Express was told.
Ali, 25, was snatched from outside his father's hardware in Gasparillo on June 10. He was not allowed to speak with his family until Tuesday.
Ali said he was being beaten. He begged for help and cried on the phone, the Express learned.
The kidnappers have asked for no less than $3 million for Ali's return. His mother is said to have gone into a state of depression and was taken to hospital yesterday.
The family's business has been closed.
