'Shawshank Fugitive' wins freedom after spending decades on the run
The Ohio Adult Parole Authority board voted Thursday to release Frank Freshwaters on parole on or after April 24. Freshwaters, 79, had spent 56 years on the run after pleading guilty to second-degree manslaughter, violating his parole and escaping from a prison farm. The U.S. Marshals Service tracked him down and arrested him last year. Ref. USAToday.
