Speed Racer
I was surprised to know that the Wachowski brothers came up with this one. They are probably looking to get fans from a much younger audience. Maybe Felipe will like it, but I can't see myself very interested in this one.

"Speed Racer" is about a kid named Speed (Emile Hirsch), whose ultimate passion is racing. He enters racing competition and soon proves to be the best- which gathers the attention of many racers, including Racer X (Matthew Fox). The original cartoon already had a campy, naive feel to it. The Wachowski brothers transmit this energy to screen. The only problem is that it doesn't work. Clearly aimed at younger audiences, "Speed Racer" has few elements to keep their attention besides the striking colors. Mature audiences will also find themselves snoring at the incredibly painful dialogues. Ref. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0811080/ |
Speed Racer (Hover)
It is most likely for young audiences. However, I seem to be hearing a lot of high schoolers saying "Yeah let's go see Speed Racer." Of course I'm assuming they're joking and it sounds like they are but I think they're actually serious about it. I would absolutely not go.
This is a must for all parents and children. It was a decent story and some good laughs, a fresh breath from the usual trash being produced of late. I also was surprised at how many single men and how many teens were there and completely enjoyed it.
I give this 2 thumbs up. I have a ten and 5 year old they cheered and booed and jumped for joy in different part and even laughed out loud many times. The characters were well played and the actors seemed well cast.
