Astronaut Scott Kelly returns to Earth after nearly year-long mission in space

Kelly landed back on solid ground in Kazakhstan late Tuesday after spending 340 consecutive days in space, more than any other American. Scientists are eager to study Kelly to examine the effects lengthy space time has on the human body. His twin brother, retired astronaut Mark Kelly, will also be analyzed. I'm no expert but she must feel like she just dropped in a weight facility with all the extra gravity that she hasn't experienced for so long. That will take some getting used to and way harder if she lost a lot of muscle.

Not exacty, the cosmonauts have a very heavy excercise program while on missions. The low gravity is toxic to our bodies and can result up to organ failures. The immediate problems are the degeneration of bone density that lead to osteoporosis.

NASA: Astronaut Scott Kelly is retiring in April, will continue to participate in research

NASA said in a news release that astronaut Scott Kelly is retiring from the agency April 1. Kelly, who recently returned from a year-long mission, holds the American record for most time spent in space. He will continue to participate in research related to that mission, NASA said. Ref. USAToday.

I would retire too after spending so long in space. Being back on earth must be a real 'culture shock'. Have they released any of the test results on him?
