How is DPS calculated? I'm no good at math, but if it's avg DMG * speed, the dagger seems very high dps compared to bigger weapons.
Dagger: 1-4 = 2 avg DMG at 0.2 attack rate = 2*(1/0.2) = 10 DPS.
Long sword: 1-7 = 3.5 avg DMG at 1.5 attack rate = 3.5*(1/1.5) = 2.33 DPS .
There isn't a damage per second calculation. While it would be nice to calculate space vs weapon length, encumbrance and specific damage based on weapon type it would take too much time in coding and really defeat what ROK II is about - a story of your Character. I am not saying those things should not be calculated but there are far more important things that are still to be implemented and yet have not because a lack of support. I see, but I still don't know how to choose a weapon. What does it mean to be high DMG and slow vs. Low DMG and fast? Game says it's too early for combat so I can't test sorry.
Also is there permadeath? I thought so until I saw the deity page talk about resurrection.
Orasmyn, I think you may be mixing past Role-playing Game system experience with what is ROK II. Please look at the Player's Manual and follow what is there rather than try to incorporate stuff. Again, "ROK II is about - a story of your Character" not dice rolls, modifiers, etc. If statistics is your concentration then you have missed the point. The link I gave you above is very valid.
