Hi Gamemaster,
Welcome to the game. I understand your point of wanting a guide there are the guides and tips that help you, but I quite liked the idea of entering The Town with no idea what to do. It is a good representation of a young 16 year old going out into the a new world and discovering it for yourself.
You first have to stumble and fumble around a bit before knowing what you are supposed to do…
My suggestion here would be to either ask a question here in this space OR role play it by "Approaching" strangers in the tavern, the ones who seem most approachable, and ask them something that you would like to know.
I can see what GameMaster is saying mostly because there is a transition from reading and creating your own character like a make your own story book to an interface that does not say what to do next. With limited gold someone might start making some bad decisions right off the bat only later wishing they had not spent their gold like that.
I will soon be adding a starter Tutorial that is interactive. I do not use any Javascript in my productions so it will be tricky but I will also have to create a button to turn it off. Along with this will come other settings and hidden events for Players.
So JB your last newsletter made me decide to sign up and I have to say you really surprised me. I didn't know this game had so many parts to it. I knew what you did with Plugged and your capabilities are there I just didn't think there would be so many NPCs to meet and stuff to do. Great job. I miss the days of Medieval and it was kind of cool that you kept that same theme.
JB, is there any particular history or layout that would come in handy at the moment? How would you like it formatted?
Anronrosby, you seemed to have missed this: Post where I elaborated with examples. You have asked this before and I answered. You might want to go back through these pages so you can see all that was said.
Playbypost, thanks ROK II is like Advanced World of Medieval where you can play anytime with contributive input from Players.
Two Major Items Working On
1. I am working on a video for ROK II and it takes more time than building the game itself!
2. I have already updated the DB for settings. I will be creating an Advisor soon. The Advisor will look at your stats and offer Tips while in the Town. This will be specially good for new Players who seemed to get lost as to what to do next once they've created their Character.
