On this concept of relationships.
I see a lot of emphasis being put on the more modern version of what a relationship should look like. That is, love, romance, sensuality, chivalry etc. I understand that this also changes certain aspects of the game for you.
However, I am wondering, why not have the option also for an arranged marriage or a more business transaction type of marriage. My character (Or at least his aura) is bad. He is a fighter and an ambitious man. He has no interest in love and romance. Why not have the option of a more calculated quid-pro-quo relationship.
I cannot be expected to rule with a wife (Or husband) who keeps nagging for a vacation… I would much rather have a cold an calculating wife/husband, who shares my views on life, that is, without the need for romance and sensuality (That is what the brothel is for).
I do realize that coding is always the issue. So my questions should rather be that would it be possible to go into that direction at some point?
I would rather go without the bonuses than have to role-play something that is not my character.
Hi JB, I think you misunderstood me or perhaps I said it wrong. I believe in loving relationships. I am all for it.
I was just talking about the possibility of having such a relationship as described.
Admittedly I have not tried the system yet so I am basing my opinion on what I have read here in this discussion forum, my character sheet and what the FAQ/Tips are saying. In other words, all available tooltips that should explain the system to me. I did not want to start down that path unless I am sure it is worth my characters time. Especially if this would later affect my leadership rating or any other aspect of the game in a negative manner.
On another point, this game only has three different aura's. Mine being bad, I get the feeling that if you say you have a bad aura, it means you are cruel, spiteful, vindictive and all those lovely descriptions. If anyone here has ever watched the TV series "House of cards" then they will understand what I mean with a more "Cold and calculated" marriage. I am not saying do evil things, but rather two people joining together for the same ambitious goals. I am not ascribing it to a specific period as these kind of marriages still happen today. I am merely wondering about the possibilities of having a mutually beneficial relationship with an NPC that does not need the maintenance of a more normal relationship.
Now if the system allows for it, I will most certainly try it out.
Belial, I understood you very well. What is ROK II? ROK II is a Medieval Fantasy story you create. I do not know how to emphasize this more. If you want that kind of relationship then it is up to you to create as you build that NPC relationship. Even if you both are evil you still have to meet, marry and so forth… just role-play the 'bad' way in which you all go about it but I still see that even the bad like to celebrate things, etc. You cannot have credit for a marriage done in secret while trying to be a future "Ruler".
Leadership Adjustment Fix
A bug that may have tacked on extra negative Leadership Adjustment to some accounts was found. I have fixed it and adjusted all high negatives down to lower figures to compensate. You will see the reflection of this on your Character Sheet.
Town Brothel Updates
Attached to the new Relations feature are the Secret Costumes. We have added more than 130 of them so it appeals to all tastes.
Selecting one here will show it on your Character Sheet and in Player to Player meetings. The Town's Brothel has an option for that and "Seduction Jobs".
Working On…
