Zootopia
What is your review for the entertainment value of the animated movie called, "Zootopia"?
Zootopia (Hover)
In a city of anthropomorphic animals, a fugitive con artist fox and a rookie bunny cop must work together to uncover a conspiracy.
Zootopia is a typical Disney movie, with cute animation and typical jokes. However it has a little more political charge than is typical in Disney (Not that Disney never does it, just they don't do it in every movie). There is a strong division between 'prey' and 'predators' with each not trusting the other. Some animals act stereotypically for their designation adding to the stigma and some try to break the mold to change perceptions. The movie is about this struggle and what it means to persist in the face of opposition. But that doesn't mean that kids won't still love it and there is plenty of humor for such a serious topic. The movie does have a 'naturalist' resort in it where there are animals not wearing clothes, so if you are worried about your kids thinking about such things, you might want to be wary, but it is tastefully done and more humorous than serious. Overall, I really enjoyed the movie and took it at face value without trying to read into whatever subtle points the directors were trying to make.
