I do think some accountability for misleading a client is required but the consumer needs to be accountable to not using their own common sense. If you are barely able to float a mortgage at sub-prime rates then you need to kick yourself for being a fool. The brokers should also be held to allowing a 50% variance in any rate applied to help protect people from themselves. Sound like a repeat of the 80's to me.
