Ravens Defeat Redskins 26-20 in Overtime
AP - Jamal Lewis ran for 15 yards on six carries in his preseason debut, and third-string quarterback Derek Anderson threw a 66-yard touchdown pass to Randy Hymes with 12:39 left in overtime to lift the Baltimore Ravens over the Washington Redskins 26-20 Thursday night.

First off, how can the title be that they got off to a good start but the meat of the subject about their futile attempt of a game against the redskins? But seriously, I wouldn't put allot of stock in preseason. Jamal Lewis is going to have another great year and put up allot of good yards. Big question is can they get their defense back like it has been in the past few years. A defense like than can be a season winner.
The ravens will make and go to the playoffs this year if one thing is done. If Kyle Boller has a season like he is suppose to. They have the two best defensive players in the league with Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. They added a great cornerback in Samari Rolle and signed the Titans old number one receiver Derrick Mason. Jamal Lewis did his time in jail and is back with something to prove. They have everything you could need except a quarterback. I believe they'll win the division over the Steelers as long as Kyle can step up and do what he's paid to do.
Looks like the Ravens won't have to worry about how well Kyle Boller will do this season. They are ready to sign soon-to-be ex-Titans QB Steve McNair. The only doubt I have about this move is the health of McNair for an entire season. Otherwise, it seems to be a great move for both parties, as well as Tennessee who will free up $9 million. This is money they can use to pay their young prospects Vince Young and Lendale White.
City sees payday if Ravens, Bolts win
City of San Diego officials have a big stake - potentially $750,000 or more - riding on two NFL playoff games this weekend. If the Baltimore Ravens beat the Indianapolis Colts tomorrow and the Chargers beat the New York Jets on Sunday, the city would gain extra rent estimated to be $750,000 or more, according to its lease with the Chargers for city-owned Qualcomm Stadium. Former Ravens Owner Dies
Art Modell, former owner of the Baltimore Ravens, has died, the team says. Modell purchased the Cleveland Browns in 1961 and moved the franchise to Baltimore in 1996. The relocation made him a hero in Baltimore but a pariah in Cleveland. Modell served as NFL president from 1967-69, chaired negotiations for the first collective bargaining agreement with the players in 1968 and was a key figure in getting NFL games televised on Monday nights. The Baltimore Ravens won their second Super Bowl title Sunday night, beating the San Francisco 49ers after dominating the team for most of the game.
Playing nearly perfectly in his Super Bowl debut, Joe Flacco threw three touchdown passes to help the Ravens hold off a furious 49ers second-half comeback. The game was delayed 35 minutes following a power outage at the Superdome. Ravens' Ray Lewis played in his final game, retiring after a 17-year career that is expected to land him in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Ref. USAToday
