Is the subject of Muslims in Cyprus taboo?
If you mentioned to a local that you are part of or support the Muslims in Cyprus will that be taken with objection?
Is there fighting among different groups of Muslims in Cyprus? For instance Cyprus Sunni Muslims vs Shia Muslims, etc.

Cyprus is an Island divided and it has been since 1974. That is when the military, supported by Greece, staged a coup and installed a very pro Greek government. This worried Turkey so they invaded and divided the country into a Turkish and Greek sector. Because of this there are very few Muslims in the bottom 2/3 of the island and very few Christians in the northern 1/3.
