If you mentioned to a local that you are part of or support the Muslims in Gambia will that be taken with objection?
Is there fighting among different groups of Muslims in Gambia? For instance Gambia Sunni Muslims vs Shia Muslims, etc.

Subject of Muslims in Gambia is definitely not taboo since it's the main religion in the country. There are present big mosques and religious facilities for people involved (About 90% of the population). Usually, you would spot a lot of Malikite Sunnis or Ahmadiyya Muslims.
