Is there fighting among different groups of Muslims in Maldives? For instance Maldives Sunni Muslims vs Shia Muslims, etc.

Not taboo at all, Islam is very much present in the Maldives and Sunni Muslims are the usual ones representing the religious population. Some locals or tourists associated with Islam are said to practice their religion in private and can attend mosques.
