Catholic Bible Misleading?

Comments: PERCEPTION IS REALITY! I read a comment stating that because God does not repent that the scripture is mistranslated! While I agree that our current bible is flawed (for many reasons), to state that everything that does not match up with your current religion or belief system is just mistranslated is not a good mindset. If you think this way you are always thinking within the box(the box of your own religion), and therefor will always end up right where you began. Is it possible that our perception of the words "God" "Angels" "Sons of God," are not accurate? Why do we automatically think that these "entities" are purely spiritual beings and not just races from different civilizations from around the world or possibly the universe. Which in many cases makes much more sense when reading the bible. I challenge people to think outside there religion (or belief system). I want people to take the book of Enoch and think about it for just a minute. This book speaks about Noah and the flood (which most scientist believe happened), very similar to bible accounts of the end times (much like revelation), this book is referenced multiple times in the canonized bible, this book speaks about the planets and luminaries (which is all acurate), etc.... The book of Enoch speaks many truths, so MAYBE it might be a good idea to read it and take it for more than just a false writing because it doesn't fit within your normal religion or belief system. Just a little food for thought; history always repeats itself, and the Catholic church (producer of our canonized bible(council of Nicaean)) has proven itself to be very misleading in its teachings in the past. The church does not change its spots(meaning it is still the same ol' church), the Vatican teaches the same ol' teachings, but in the mean while they spend millions upon millions of dollars on observatories so they can watch the stars! WHY?

I am not sure I follow you in the fact that the bible is misleading. Granted the bible is hard to understand at times and you can get a different message out of it every time you read it. The bible was written by man who were inspired by God to write his words. I feel that some items could not be described by the written word. This is where translations come in.

Through out history men have had the bible rewritten to make it easier for them to understand. Many bibles were written to include words of support for this person or that. Then came King James version. The king James version is one of the most widely known bibles. King james had the bible rewritten and as complete as his scholars could get it. There may be books that are no longer in the bible that were in the original. That is something we may not know. I have a tendency to read the king james version and hold it more close than that of later translations.

I believe it is not the bible that is flawed but the religions who are flawed. This is why we have so many christian based faiths. Who is the right one and who is the wrong? They all can not be right and according to many if you are not one of them you are the flawed one. I guess this is why I have searched and am still searching for more of the truth.
