There are many interesting facts happening. First of all, many employees saw Van der Sloot with the victim (as well as a camera). They saw them together entering a hotel room that is also reportedly registers in HIS name.

He is now in Chile and probably believed to be en route to Argentina.

And the most interesting fact of all, the day the victim was killed was also the five year anniversary of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.

Oh yes, you start wondering if this guy is sane at all. He is now charged in Alabama trying to extort $250,000 in return for disclosing the location of Natalee Holloway's body.

Apparently, Peruvian authorities are acting very quickly. The victim is the daughter of a prominent businessman who was also a presidential candidate. Authorities believe they have more than enough proof to link Joran to this murder since there are witnesses that saw the girl entering HIS room and then they saw HIM leaving alone. The two tax drivers he hired to take him to Chile also testified saying he was extremely nervous and was smoking one cigarette after another in the 20 something hour trip.

On top of all that, the extortion charges involved Natalee Holloway's mom. HE paid for his trip to South America by extorting money from her. He promised to tell Beth Holloway what really happened to her daughter in Aruba in exchange for big cash. He tried to get $250,000 but ended up taking $15,000 as a down payment.

The thing is the FBI knew about the extortion since early May but they failed to arrest him. IF they had arrested him THEN he would not have been able to travel to Chile and there would be no murder.

I saw tonight in the Nancy Grace's show that the Peruvian police said the murder weapon is a baseball bat and it was found in the room of Joran Van Der Sloot. It is also reported that apparently the motive behind the murder was money because the victim won a lot of money at the casino that night and the money is now missing.

I do have a couple of questions. Where in the world Joran was able to get a baseball bat in Peru? And second, could he be this stupid as to involve himself in another murder investigation?
