I have had sweet corn for more than 5 days in a row now. I did have some rather nice rhubarb crisp and even some rhubarb cake too. smile.gif

I have an over abundance of rhubarb. I should go home and make a crisp and then freeze the rest. smile.gif No corn. I am jealous, though I have started seeing it show up in the grocery stores for outrageous prices. I remember the good old days when you could buy it on any corner for 10cents an ear.

Good old days would that have been 10 cents a dozen biggrin.gif .

I grew up we never bough any veggies other then lettuce in the winter we grew it all so it was paid for in sweat.

I miss my dads garden. DID I mention that anything that one can not eat is just a weed though some look prettier then others.

Yeah I hear you. Women are always wanting to plant all these pretty weeds. I do not understand that. IF you want to plant something plant some Sweet corn or even some watermelon. smile.gif

I think I will look seriously into planting a garden next year. Maybe that will offset some of the high prices. Maybe rig up some lights and plant troughs down in my basement to grow year round.

I suppose that would depend upon your definition of fresh. It would certainly be fresher than the stuff they ship up here.

I am talking about picked today and getting to you the next day. Only way to get fresher would to be to pick it and eat it here yourself. smile.gif
