Wnevil Introduction

Hello,

I am a second generation mormon. I served in the California Arcadia Mission from 1977 to 1979. I have a great thirst for the gospel which leds me to deeper and deeper doctrine. I began studying the Adam God Theory to prove to my brother that is was a misquote of Brigham Youngs, however since that time I have began to feel many parts of it are true.

I still have questions and unanswered questions concerning it. Those questions, and hopefully the Holy Spirit has led me to this site. I don't really have anyone to discuss these things with that understands what I am talking about, or is willing to go forward in the deeper things of the gospel.

I am not afraid of the truth, I am however afraid of being deceived and so I am proceeding with great caution.

Honestly, I am suspisious of this site, and hope that it isn't some sort of anti-mormon snare, rather than a place to learn true and more deeper things of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

My ultimate goal is to receive the highest blessing and ordinances of the Temple so that I may do that work for my ancestors on the other side. In my research I believe that my family is just a handful of member, and we have a great work to do. I think I may be the one called to receive these blessings, and am doing what I can to learn about them and how to receive them. I believe that I can see my Savior in this life, and that many have. It is my desire to know him in this life.

I want the Lords will to be done in all things.

Hi W, welcome. There is really no reason to be suspicious about this site. Keep in mind that this is an International Community and we happen to have an LDS doctrine board, however it is strictly moderated.

Also, topics of delicate nature such as Adam God are discussed only in the LDS Mature Board due to the sensitivities of the issues.

What have you joined? Basically, this INTERNATIONAL Forum allows you to freely interact positively with many people on varying topics such as LDS Church news, Doctrine, the Book of Mormon, etc. However, do keep in mind that LDS Related Discussion is kept only in the LDS Deep Doctrine Board.

Are all LDS Topics allowed? Sometimes people want to talk about things like Polygamy, Adam god theory, etc. Those kind of Topics are kept in what we call the 'LDS Mature Board'. We have certain requirements that must be met for that section: See Here

The next thing you should do now is update your profile. You can do this by clicking the link called, 'My Controls' in the top menu. You may wish to venture over to the LDS Deep Doctrine Board and add your input in any one of the thousands of Mormon Doctrine Topics there.

I do have a question:

I have tried to find a thread dealing with "the definition of doctrine" in the search window, but couldn't find the definition. Can you point me in the right direction?
