Foreign Meat In Trinidad & Tobago
Food fraud in Trinidad & Tobago was featured on TV6 News. According to an inquiry by the JSC chicken sold in the US as pet food because it is unfit for human consumption is relabeled here and sold as chicken for human consumption. Another reason to stop eating meat.
I was actually thinking there is no difference between that and the 'fresh' chicken they buy at the poultry shop. The smell of chicken's being slaughtered and bag is horrendous. I literally have to hold my nose when passing in front of a poultry shop or those trucks that carry the chickens in the most inhumane conditions. There needs to be a regulatory body that diligently screens everything coming into the country.

Title: Rotten meat
Comments: There is nothing new about rotten meat entering this island for distribution through supermarkets and small retail shops. I worked, in one of the retails shops in 1950 which was owner by a well known Portuguese businessman. It was the norm to see the maggots floating in the brine at the top of a newly opened large barrel of pork, which was sold to consumers. No one ever complained because they didn't know that rotten pork was being sold to them.
