I had not listed this before because I thought the inncident was too small to warrant Discussion but since it now involves the Olympics and a lingering controversy we should Discuss it. As you may know… the Trinidad and Tobago Gymnastics Federation (TTGF) chose to discipline Thema Williams and Marisa Dick for inappropriate photos.

When the photos came up it was based on Thema Williams posting a topless post of herself on her instagram page earlier in 2015 and attached the caption “being black women is an honour..always” Ref. Marissa Dick | CNC3. At first the Trinidad and Tobago Gymnastics Federation (TTGF) didn't want to send Thema to the Olympics but later consented. Now, this duo has been in the news already having been featured in the Guardian: Confusion over Williams and Dick for Rio Olympic gymnastics as to who should qualify.

Now, the latest is Thema Williams, now in Brazil, is injured and cannot continue according to her coach but doctors in Brazil are saying otherwise. Even so, the Trinidad and Tobago Gymnastics Federation (TTGF) have already gone ahead and assigned Marisa Dick - what are your thoughts?

Marisa Dick finished 42nd after failing to do well enough to pass first round qualifications. Thema Williams went to social media and simply texted, "Poetic Justice" after Marisa Dick sloppily fell from the uneven bars after losing momentum.

This case is pretty much all about the two things which always seem to creep around every businesses - fame and money. The TTGF is being sued by Thema Williams for being bias for sending Marisa in a rush even though Williams was still qualified for the Olympics. I wonder how that will turn out.
