Did Medieval Women have the same rights and position as women of today?

NO Women back in the medieval times were second class citizens to a point. Men used women as they wished and if the woman did not give them what they wanted the threw them out. I believe the few women who were treated better were those born in wealth or power.

Yeah that's true. Funny how in D&D women are not like spoken of this way because they're usually like some warrior or spell caster.

Even in the DnD world you usually talk to a inn keeper or a shop owner who is male and not female. Most of the time you do not talk to women who are just NPCs. Most of the women you talk to are actual Player Characters.

I disagree, a lot of my D&D experiences have included hearty women running inns, powerful sorceresses tending stores, or even a few traveling dwarven women cleaning out all the goblins in an area depriving me of work.

Well you have to keep in mind back then survival was very hard. Most of the common males were worth nothing too. You had to be tough and a good fighter or be nobility to be worth anything. Even they were subject to sub human treatment depending on the situation.

I also think in a lot of ways it isn't much different than today really. Except for these days most of the wars happen somewhere else and not in our backyards.

That's cool. Was ths GM for those a feamle too or just like having more women in the story. When Krusten played that was like the first real female interaction I've had in any D&D game.

It was a good period to be a man. Women didn't have much of a say in anything unless they were of royal blood. Can you imagine how the feminists of today would have an outrage about the subjection to men they would be under.
