This is absolutely disgusting and wrong for so many reasons! If the police is reading this, I hope a full investigation is taking place because I feel this little girl is either being abused or in danger.

Robert Nelson, art critic with The Age, has responded angrily to criticism of the nude pictures of his six-year-old daughter Olympia in the magazine's most recent issue, which may be pulled from the shelves after authorities ruled it needed to be classified. Nelson also refers to the use of a pacifier in the photos of Olympia as "a necessary token of her age" "¦ "Yet the (pacifier) itself is ambiguous "¦ it also evokes the perversity of pleasure-sucking, I.e. a sucking for non-nutritious purposes, apparently serving a hedonistic function unrelated to nourishment." Bolt described the words as "deeply, deeply disturbing" and Nelson as "irresponsible" despite his insistence on the need to protect children from sexual abuse... |

This is obscene. The parents' attitude is very disturbing. I do not know what Australia's child protection laws are like but in the U.S. this would be cause for an investigation at least. It is exploitation of a minor. And the fact that the father stated that "the sensuality of children is integral to parental fondness." is very concerning. Is he saying his feelings for his daughter is directly related to her sensuality? That is just plain wrong.

I think that if any nude photos of boys or girls under the age of 18 is plain wrong. I can under stand some parents taking photos of their children while they are young and undressed but they do not share them with the world. If you share these photos then you are a pervert. IF you take these type of photos of your son or daughters after they are over the age of 2 or 3 then you should be classified as a sexual predator. I can not even describe how I feel about this type of photo being published in a magazine. I just know it is very wrong.

A full nude under the age of 18 (Lowest I can think of off hand is the dutch at 16 for nude pictures) is illegal period here and I am betting Australia is not much different. I am 6 thinking some sicko found a loop hole in the acceptable nudity of artwork and has paid this fellow for the effort of exposing their little girl. I hope him and the magazine hang high at noon.

This is a very disturbing article. It is always very sad when we learn on via the media about pedophiles, exploiting innocent children for their own perverse pleasure. But the woman who gave birth to you, to actually take nude photos of her own flesh and blood? Somehow, I want to believe that these pictures were taken by the father and not the mother. But either way, it is truly a sad day for all children around the world. Parents are supposed to be the ones to guide and direct the behaviour of their own children. Parents are supposed to be the ones to fiercely protect their children from sexual predators and not to be the actual sexual predators. Are there any good role models for children today? Are children all over the world in danger inside and outside of their homes? The crimes committed these days are very troubling and makes you feel as if you should escort your child everywhere. Both children and adults are no longer safe in this world...
