That is why I hate these movies they corrupt the original so bad that it really should be renamed to a new name and all the characters renamed as they are changed in their history so much. Yes Magneto was in the camp he was Jewish. It was his abilities that aided in his survival. Been a long time since I read this stuff but I know he was not not German from what I recalled. I am unsure if they (Xavier and Magneto even knew each other at that time or even in the same area.

I am sure magneto was a child at the time of the imprisonment.

Spin-off X-men

He was a child in a German concentration camp where he was separated from his parents. He and Xavier did not meet until much later from my recollection.
