Is this the future of smartphones?

REMEMBER the flip phones? Samsung reportedly is working on a new smartphone that steals from that idea, but much better. Ref. Source 6x.

I know that flexible screens are since 2005s but I have yet to see them into production. I know there are still technical difficulties, but still… I believe it is just a managment trick and we won't see them anytime soon. Plus the cost for the R&D will see them only in high-end tech applications.
