Nepal's Ministry of Home Affairs says more than 150 people have died in the capital, Kathmandu, following a 7.9 magnitude earthquake.

A powerful earthquake has struck Nepal less than 50 miles from the capital, Kathmandu, the U.S. Geological Survey said Saturday. It occurred at a depth of less than two miles, which is considered shallow.

The shaking was rated as "Strong" To "Severe" On the USGS ShakeMap. CNN sister network CNN-IBN is reporting that buildings are down and roads are out. Ref. CNN

Earthquake Nepal

Its saying 1500 and rising. Its very heart-breaking. More than 60 missing Australians, countless others from other countries. And then there are the locals. All these people who may never be found and accounted for. How awful. It makes you realise that life is short and hug your loved ones when you can.
