Nepal's Ministry of Home Affairs says more than 150 people have died in the capital, Kathmandu, following a 7.9 magnitude earthquake.
A powerful earthquake has struck Nepal less than 50 miles from the capital, Kathmandu, the U.S. Geological Survey said Saturday. It occurred at a depth of less than two miles, which is considered shallow.
The shaking was rated as "Strong" To "Severe" On the USGS ShakeMap. CNN sister network CNN-IBN is reporting that buildings are down and roads are out. Ref. CNN
The death toll is more like 1,457 and even more are expected. When any part of Asia is hit by an earthquake it is ridiculous the kind of damage that takes place.
