Corren is grinning as he gets closer, sure he is going to take the orc unaware. Suddenly the creature's head glances over its shoulder and it spies him. It pivots and the haft of its large axe knocks aside his narrow rapier. The orc then swings the axe back around, aiming for Corren's extended sword arm. Corren, knowing that trying to parry the more massive weapon would likely fail, moves in desperation. Aware he is going to be struck, he turns his body, exposing his left side to the blow, hoping that if he survives, his weapon will still be in his functioning arm. The axe sinks into the back of his left arm above the elbow, and the wide blade also digs into his back. The pain is excruciating, but the fact he is still breathing and able to cry out in pain helps him realize he is alive, and still on his feet. For the moment…
Out of Character: : Dungeon Master, is that the sort of thing to which you were referring?
Out of Character: : Roland, by my reading of the rules, you should have Advantage on your attack as well. Roll twice, please… and roll well! .
Mradoric’s staff swings around and connects solidly with the goblins head. You hear a loud crack as the things skull is fractured and the goblin staggers back, surprised by the force of the onslaught.
Out of Character: : Rolands attack hits and is enough to kill the orc (He only had 7hp left), you can describe how Roland dispatches his enemy.
Carrick can wait and aim but mechanically speaking its not going to have any impact as it is almost a wash; I haven’t been giving the goblin advantage for his position and I probably should have and even poking out to take a shot the goblin will still have some cover since he’s not likely to jump out and expose his entire body each time he takes a shot. As it stands Carrick should normally be attacking this goblin with disadvantage due to the goblin having cover, but if he uses his move action to aim he can overcome this disadvantage.

With a savage cry the sword falls pitiless on the head of the orc remaining stuck for a moment, forcing Roland to leverage his foot on the opponent's body to free it.
Then he gets ready for the next enemy trying to cover his wounded commander.
Satisfied that he made a good solid impact on the goblin before him Mradoric looks towards the other goblin. He should not have enjoyed seeing the eyes rolling back as the blood came flowing out of the cracked skull but for some reason he did. As he looks and turns to face the second goblin Mradoric smiles a little as he swings again.
Seeing his arrow lodge into the wooden shutter just left of the window with the goblin, Carrick curses to himself then takes a deep breath and steadies his aim. Pulling firm on his string, the tension causing his bow to creak briefly under the stress, he waits just as the goblin comes back into view preparing its own arrow.
Time seems to slow as Carrick's fingers release the string, the feathered end brushing just past his cheek, launching the arrow toward the goblin just as its ugly head takes shape in the frame of the window.
Out of Character: : Carrick is readying his attack action for when the Goblin comes into view to take another shot.
Carrick hold his action until he sees the goblins head pop up before he lets his arrow fly. The goblin rises from the barn window with bow drawn only to have Carrick's arrow sprout between his eyes which go crossed then roll back into the things head. The goblin lets loose of the arrow and it flies off aimlessly, his body then falls from the window and lands with a solid thud on the ground.
Seeing this turn of events the last remaining goblin shakes his head trying to get the trickle of goblin blood out of his eye then looks about and realizes that his situation is dire he turns and flees, dropping his scimitar which clatters on the ground! (Uses disengage as a bonus action)
