Leo ponders for a time, scratching at his beard, "I cannot answer with certainty, I never met him before our journey here. Somewhere a twixt the two I should think. I did not see signs of that level of aggressiveness, but he is perhaps overly confident in the status of the elves as lost children of the Maker who are in need of saving. But how he behaved in the company of the ordained is likely to be at least somewhat different than how he will behave out there."
"The other problem is simple ignorance, what little we in the heartlands hear of the wild elves is laced with exaggerations and outright lies. Even after sifting out the obvious myths, I'd be surprised if what I think I know of them is even half true, and the Father did not strike me as having more insight into the matter. Without guidance, every step he takes might be an insult."
"I should also note that this is not the only mission being sent. Groups like ours are being sent to other portions of the wilds, as well as other frontier areas."

Zinna listens to everyone as they speak and nods thoughtfully. She studies Sir Leo as he speaks with a look of distaste on her face. She mumbles under her breath and the only thing that can be heard is " another do gooder for the maker." Zinna sits back in her chair and takes another drink. She nods approvingly when Carrick and Mradoric speak up, grinning at them.
Zinna thinks about this proposition. She doesn't even know if the Maker exists. This fool doesn't either but yet a war could be started over it. The whole idea was disgusting to her. Zinna didn't want this to bring down trouble on the home that she has finally found. She waits for a break in the conversation and speaks to Corren. " Corren, don't forget that I speak the Elven language fluently. If I can help with any translating I'll be glad to help you. ". There is an emphasis on the word you. Zinna smiles and takes another drink. She looks lost in thought now.
Corren smiles at Zina and says, "Thank you. Very kind." He suddenly turns to Leo and says, "By any chance do you know if the good father speaks the Elven tongue? If not, I fear his work will be more than cut out for him."
Carrick looks back up at Zinna with a slight smug grin and says to her in Elvish but still with his dwarven accent, << Tis certainly goin' t' be an int'restin' lit'le mission, t' be sayin th' least… >>
Then turns back to Corren and Leo, "Well, when ye be ready, send word. Til then, this dwarf be needin' t' get some rest."
Carrick rises from the table, leaves a few coins on the table for the service and gives a departing nod to everyone at the table. As he approaches the heavy wooden door to the tavern he pauses momentarily as if another thought had just come to him, but then dismisses it and then exits out into the cold night air.
Zinna's jaw drops when she hears Carrick speak in Elvish. A huge grin appears on her face and she shakes her finger at him. She looks back at the group. " That dwarf.... I need to depart as well. I have some things to pack and need my beauty rest. The rest of the planning I will leave up to the brains of our operations. Corren, when it is time for our group to depart you know where to find me." She winks very subtly at him. " Good night gentleman. ". She rises to her feet and curtsies towards the paladin. She then walks slowly towards the exit with a sensual stride. Zinna pushes the door open and heads out into the night with a mischievious look on her face.

Leo suddenly occupies himself with what remains of his tankard as Zinna departs. Given her comments, she would not… appreciate him watching. He finishes, and looks at the container regretfully before setting it aside without asking for a refill, this was an evening for clear heads.
He mutters, "This mission may be considerably less disturbing, but I think I'd rather go tangle with that necromancer again. At least then I knew what must be done." Straightening, he looks Corren in the eyes, "You and yours have the experience the Father and I desperately need. If it helps with the reluctance displayed here, I will give the mission to you to lead as you deem best. I have my own duties, but until and unless they conflict, I will act as you direct, and do what I can to ensure the Father does the same."

Corren also seems surprised when Carrick speaks Elvish, and grins at Zinna's wink, though he also blushes slightly. He blushes deeper when she walks away in that manner she knows is distracting. It certainly distracts the guardsman. He turns back to Leo and says, "Yes, I'll be in command of the group as we head into the Wilds. Hopefully things will go smoothly. We can set out after breakfast. Now I will bid you all a good night." He excuses himself and departs. Part of him thinks of paying a late night call on Zinna to make sure she is well, but he decides that with the coming journey they both should get plenty of rest.
