Drawing the sword Roland cautiously follow Aves trying to cover him, with a gentle pat on his back Roland says: "I'm behind you, don't worry"
Out of character: sorry again for the delay in my answer, anyway I'm covering Aves so if anything happens I'll use my protection stance on him. Oh, I'm also going to roll the previous constitution check.
Corren glances in through what appears to be a bedroom window, and sees no signs of anything obviously amiss. He moves around the house to see if the remaining room also has a window, to see if anything is waiting to surprise them. He gives Roland and Aves a sign to go ahead, and if they call out he will turn and dash to their aid.
Not seeing any fresh tracks in the mud, Carrick notices Aves and Roland at the barn entrance and notches an arrow, and readies himself.
Zinna watches Aves and Roland approaching the barn. She notices Mradoric opening the door to the house. She glances over her shoulder once more then strides quickly over to stand behind the monk. " I'll go in right behind you. What's the worst that could happen?" She grips the rapier tightly and smiles.
Aves cautiously pulls the doors to the barn open and peers inside with Roland moving up behind him. Within the barn Aves sees that it is unoccupied save for three horses contained in stables. They appear to have half eaten piles of hay within their stalls but their water troughs contain only a small layer of water. The horses move about restlessly. Aves scans the barn for any threats but can see no obvious threat or hazard. Overall the interior of the barn appears to be undisturbed.
Looking through the window of the first bedroom Corran sees a large single bed and a dresser. The bed appears to be unmade but nothing else jumps out at Corran as being odd or out of place. Peering through the window of the second room Corran can see that this room contains a single small bed. The room is smaller than the first but like the first it contains a dresser and an end table near the bed where a lantern once stood but is now on the floor laying on its side, a small darkened spot has formed on the floor where the oil seeped out from the lamp.
The bed in the second room is also unmade but the sheets/bedding here appear to be more disheveled than those in the other room. There are feathers scattered throughout the room as well as what looks like a rectangular piece of white cloth on the floor on the floor near the lamp. Corran sees no one in the room though. He also notes that the window to the second room is open.

Mradoric nods to Zinnathyra and steps into the house. He will look all around for anything else that shows a struggle took place here besides the table and chairs. He looks for any blood anywhere to tell if someone or something was injured inside. He speaks softly to Zinnathyra, "It looks to me that either they left in a hurry or a struggle took place in here." He will go to the other two rooms and also look up towards the roof in case there is anything up there. He will look under any beds or large furniture that he can not easily see under.
He moves with caution and with his staff ready in case something jumps out at him. He tells himself that he will not find any dead bodies. He is hoping that someone else hollers that they have found the family out in the fields or in the barn.
Corren opens the window and speaks loudly enough so that the others entering through the door into the front room can hear. "It looks deserted, but there are some odd things in this room." He clambers over the sill and looks at the feathers, wondering if they are simply from a pillow or mattress, or if something truly odd is signified. He also takes a closer look at the piece of white fabric.
Zinna walks into the house behind Mradoric. Her eyes widen at the sign of struggle in the main room. She begins to examine the interior of the house for signs of what happened. She nods at Mradoric's statement at the appearance of a hasty departure for the family. " that is true. I wonder if this family had children. " She slowly walks about the house looking at everything. She focuses on places large enough to hide a child. Zinna calls out in as calm a voice as she can maintain " it's ok. We are here to help you. Please come out. "She keeps a tight grip on the hilt of her rapier as she does so.
