Celodhil tells Leo that he is familiar with the Illiosani tree, at one point himself being a willing and living sacrifice to the Ancestors. Unfortunately, being a male he was never trusted with any secrets in regards to the tree although he knows that the tree does seem to be fairly resistant to most forms of physical harm, but perhaps the roots are vulnerable as he has overheard the Matriarchs talking about the need to protect the roots.
The orc warband moves with an intensity that the party would struggle to keep up with had not been using mounts and rather than tiring, the orcs seem to grow more intense as they draw closer to their target and the battle becomes imminent. Within an eight hour period the warband covers more than thirty miles of ground moving through the forest with a fluidity that would likely surprise any who have not had experience with forest orcs; they move in a manner similar to elves in such terrain.
It is after midnight when the battle starts, Carrick and Celodhil lead the party through the pitch black forest, they must move slowly in order to maintain physical contact with each other and not become separated from the other members of the party. They do not see the battle but they do hear it; the shouts and growls of combat mixed with the sound of steel on steel as the orcs engage the Illiosani dug into the ruins.
The sounds of battle continue as Celodhil brings the party to a halt, you hear a light thud followed by the sound of someone ruffling through a pack. There are several sparks of light as Celodhil uses flint and steel to light a torch.
“I know it will give away our position but you are all going to need to see in order to get over the wall” as the surroundings erupt in orange torchlight you see that the forest is thick where you stand and to the immediate west is a ‘wall’ though it is covered in foliage and appears to be nothing more than a fifteen foot high vine covered and uneven hedge.
“We must move quickly” Carrick says as he cups his hands and motions for the party to use it as a foot rest where he will push them up and assist them over the wall. Corren is the first to go and will need to roll a Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check. Once Corren is up and can assist others over by straddling the wall (Which he finds to be made of stone beneath the foliage) and pulling the others up by their hands the others can make checks with advantage.
Zinna looks at the hedge. She is terrified to enter the underground caverns again but she is anxious to hurt the Iliosani as much as possible. She checks to make sure that her lute and ash wand are in their proper places. She looks up at Corren on top of the wall and steels herself to begin this. She climbs over the wall after Mradoric.

With everyone over the wall Celodhil’s torch burns bright and illuminates your surroundings. You find yourself surrounded by more foliage, in truth there is very little that remains of the fort that could identify it as such. Most of the stone structure that once stood here has fallen and is so overgrown that it is difficult to distinguish it from the surrounding forest.
The sounds of battle continue just beyond the limits of the torchlight though it sounds incredibly close now. Celodhil leads the party to an area about twenty feet away and pushes aside a mass of moss and leaves set into what at first looks like a sharp rise in the forest but is in reality an opening in a wall with stairs descending downward.
The fighting finally comes into view as a group of three elves struggle in melee against a pair of orcs. The elves are being pushed back and suddenly Oomigig breaks through the darkness. He charges through, brings his axe down into the chest of one of the elves and then lops off the head of the other. Oomigig and the pair of orcs stand breathing heavily staring in your direction.
The orc and his companions advance several paces toward you and you see Oomigig reach behind his back and suddenly produce a javeline which he sails toward Carrick just as the dwarf turns to face him. The javeline flies mere inches past the dwarfs face.
“I didn’t have to miss dwarf” Oomigig growls as the javeline richochets off the wall and clatters onto the forest floor.
Carrick brings himself upright and grins “You and I have some unfinished business pig man” he laughs and glances back to the party “you go ahead mates… I’ll catch up once I’m done here.”
The fighting draws closer and Celodhil prompts the party down the stairs “We don’t have time for this Carrick!” he groans but Carrick is set on his path and doesn’t seem to hear the elf as he advances on the large orc drawing his handaxe and his dagger and dropping into a combat stance.
“Quickly!” Celodhil shouts “you must go now before you are spotted” and with that he draws his long sword and turns to face Oomigig as well.
Celodhil advances and moves to stand beside Carrick “I will cover you, and deal with Oomigig and Carricks mess… now go!”.
Leo hesitates only a moment before going inside as well. "Come on, we have to go, we'll never get another chance like this."
Once inside, he will light a torch as well, hiding their presence unfortunately will not really be an option.
