20 veterans a day killed themselves, as young men and women showed highest suicide rates, according to numbers
In the first precise count of suicides among veterans, the Department of Veterans Affairs found 7,403 suicides in 2014. The rate among veterans under 30 was six times the rate of civilian suicides. Ref. USAToday.
Those figures are alarming. While I expected some suicides having 20 of our vets taking their lives each day means something is really wrong with the system and care shone to veterans, that needs to change now.

Those figures are indeed alarming. Now I am not from the US but from germany and we don't really have a lot of veterans who really were in combat action and we don't have a high suicide rate either (As far as I know).
Do you think most of them have some sort of post traumatic stress disorder after being in a combat situation or area or why is this number so high?
The stigma of mental illness is still negative, and there are many people who brush it off as just something to get over. Also, with the latest article posted, I can see interacting with others and feeling like you're making a difference, making some kind of positive impact, of the world will help manage these kind of thoughts.
