*Egwene looks toward the hooded stranger, wondering if he is truly sleeping or if he is per chance hanging on our every word, She then turns to Daphne and says, (perhaps a bit loudly)*
"Why is it men will lose their head over any wench if they get a few ales in them? It would pay to keep their wits about them."
*Shakes her head in disgust*
*Daphne and Egwene survey the tavern, ever watchful of signs of danger - concerned that both men in their party seem to have temporarily lost their warrior instinct, except for in their loins. They continue to sip their ale with an eye on the door. *
*Daphne and Egwene nod to Porter as they watch him leave the tavern and continue sipping their ale. As Kalfie and Thomas are mindlessly led upstairs Egwene turns to Daphne*
Well, I certainly am not one for sitting around while the gents are getting their jollys. And I do not believe these money grabbing wenches are to be trusted. Me thinks it is about time to take some action. Men need to keep their wits about them in a place like this. I wonder what happened to all the talk of an adventure South? Perhaps they were just talk afterall. Hmphf!
*Egwene finishes off her ale and stands up and turns back to Daphne*
Perhaps we should go see if they need help returning to their senses. Are ye with me?
*Egwene heads toward the stairs, pausing long enough to nudge the stranger to see if he truly is asleep. Daphne stands up and follows."
*Egwene and Daphne pause and turn toward the commotion at the door. Egwene says to Daphne:*
Oh Great! I think trouble is a-stirring. You wait here and distract the brute if necessary whilst I go drag the men away from those wenches before there is REAL trouble. I get a feeling we will be needing their warrior skills before this night is through.
*Daphne turns and watches the barbarian with a hand on the hilt of her sword, should she need it (thinking to herself "Is it brawn or wiles that be needed to tame this beast?" Egwene quickly moves across the room and up the stairs, throwing open the first door she comes to.*
*Before Egwene has a chance to respond to the sturdy wench blocking her way upstairs Thomas appears from above coming down the stairs saying,*
What's all the ruckus about? Meh thinks there is more action going on downstairs than up.
Rather off topic, but... well, we tried |
