I can hardly understand why anyone would like this group, they sing degrading songs pointing towards women and immigrants with a choice set of profanity. You will also be surprised to know that they bought and sung songs written by Charles Manson (A cultist murder - see historic profiles section). What are your thoughts?

I have to admit that as a teenager, I listened to Guns N Roses quite a bit. In fact, their Appetite for Destruction album was the first one I ever owned. I was quite a rebellious teenager and their music was an aspect of my rebellion. Today, I dont listen to them at all, but when one of their songs come on the radio, I do recall my high school days, and get a good laugh when I remember all the crap I did back then.
I didn't realize they used cult music from Charles Manson, but I am sure they were not the first or the last to do something like that. Now I realize that Axle Rose was an idiot, and the rest of the group were all doped up anyways. Thank God I finally grew up.
I used to listen to GnR when they were really big back in the 90's I think it was. (Time flies when you get to be really old like me ) They had some really good music. Really nice melodies, etc. Just some really catch tunes.
Anyway, I haven't listened to them in years. Are they still around? I know they used to be really bad about keeping their fans waiting at concerts. They wouldn't go on when they were supposed to. They had to wait until they felt everything was perfect so they could put on the best show possible. Sounds nice, but I doubt that is really why they were always late. I mean hours late! This was inconsiderate to those fans who might need to get up the next day to get to work or school, regardless of what the reason was for the delay.
Who are Guns and Roses?I thought it was a song title by Lenny Kravitz and Sean Carter (Jay-Z)!? Any how what kind of music do they do? If heavy metallic rock I would advise y'all to read the post by Latina. It goes something like this:"Metallic rock, is[ it }realy music or is [it] just noise?"
My answer; Both: I mean loud music is noise!
My opinion is that GnR were a great band back in the 90s. I mainly liked their slower songs - "November Rain" and "Since I Don't Have You". Maybe you're right JB about some lyrics, but overall their music was good. I still think that Slash - their guitarist - is one of the greatest (of course, I'm not talking about his character as a person).
"Since I don't have you" was off the album of cover versions they did, great album that. The spaghetti incident. Appetite for destruction was the one of the first tapes I had in my car, that and Peace sells but whose buying(Megadeth). I own all of their other albums.
I agree that some of their songs can be derogatory, on the whole they are just about the rock n roll. has anyone checked out Velvet revolver, its basically guns & Roses with out the idiot front man axel rose, I have seen them live and they blew me away. Scott weiland is a good front man, and its far removed from his Stone Temple Pilots days.
