AFP - British police confirmed Friday that a youth found stabbed in south London the previous evening was 18 years old, making him the 21st teenager to violently die in the capital.

OK what is going on in London that all these teens are being attacked and stabbed to death? I hope this stops. We need our young people to help us in the coming years.

They have always carried blades in London. Mods carried flik-knives, Skinheads carried Stanley Knives the trend for razors in the shirt pocket was heavy in the blues sean in the 60's. But now there has been a change - people don't get slashed or left with scars on their face anymore - youngsters are stabbing to kill.
I find it disturbing that a blade is as common as a phone to some teenagers.

I would clamp down on those that sell them, I think you must have a good reason to buy a knife in the first place.

I carry a knife all the time but I do not use it to kill or threaten people. I think the teens in Great Briton need to be more educated about the dangers a knife can bring. It is like guns here in the states by the sounds of it. We have a lot of gangs carrying guns around while you have a lot of gangs carry knives. Both in the wrong hands can be a very deadly weapon.

I think it depends on the kid. I gave my son a pocket knife when he was 14 years old. He has treated it well and does not take it to school or use it to threaten anyone. I guess if the child ir raised well and taught more right from wrong they tend to not want to attack others with a knife. I think maybe some of these teens in London are missing that from their lives. I hope something can be done to get them to understand that killing someone else can not bring you anything but misery.

I didn't know that London was such a dangerous place. Teens walking around with knives? Sounds like the police there (they call them "Bobbies" or something like that?) need to do some random checks of teens.

If the police started to do random checks on teen in London for knives then maybe the violence will lessen. On the other hand someone will surly protest it the crack down saying the police are stopping people with out probable cause. Thus the violence will then increase again.
