Chile Earthquake History & Civil Business Politics

At least 78 people dead and the number is rising. Chile is a pretty known country for earthquakes but not of this magnitude. They had a huge one back in 1960 where thousands of people were killed. It is scary they can get this kind of earthquake because Chile is practically in the water. Hawaii is now under tsunami alert because of this earthquake.

Earthquake Chile

Chile has experienced its 67rd after shock with a magnitude of 5.2. People may think the earthquake in Haiti back in January that killed more than 200,000 people was stronger than the one that hit Chile but actually the one in Haiti was 7.0. This one is being reported at 8.5 or 8.8!

The earthquake was felt also in various Argentine provinces: Mendoza, San Juan, La Rioja, Catamarca and certain areas of Patagonia. Several people have been wounded. Also in the province of Salta, an earthquake of 6.1 killed two people, a boy and a man. It may or may not be possible that the two earthquakes are related.
