The Town's rowdy Tavern Wench yells out that no coward should take up the Reflexes competition of which courageous Merlin accepted. Sharp on the move Merlin stands at the ready as all the mugs go up into the air. Without much hesitation all are caught! Merlin uses the Reflexes Skill successfully and amazes those around them. Some were betting, so a total of 11 gold pieces was collected for Reflexes. There are now chants of "Speech! Speech!" Merlin received 49 experience points.
Sitting quietly in the corner, face shrouded by his cloak, sits Phate. One hand holds a cup of ale, but he rarely is seen drinking of it. The other is hidden beneath his cloak resting lightly on his dagger. He is seen doing this frequently when not otherwise occupied by a job or quest, and uses this time to watch and gather free information from the more boisterous patrons.
The Town's thunderous Tavern Wench dares the Jump Tavern stools challenge. Of which silly Phate accepted. Ouch! Not a good landing. All witness Phate land in between the tables right on a center stool that breaks under the weight of the impact. Phate has not the Jump Skill but unwisely thinks to be better than the Tavern's Challenge much to detriment of Phate. What an embarrassing situation! That brings on some giddy laughs.
The Town's rowdy Tavern Wench puts up a dare for the Hand wrestling competition of which clumsy Kenar accepted. Hand wrestling is not for street dogs or ally cats so Kenar is regarded as needing some meat and skill! Kenar is sorely unlucky! Kenar is hurt while trying the Hand Wrestling Skill.
Merlin was watching from the background and chuckling silently at the mishaps of those who took on challenges and failed. He says to the crowd, "I can do this… "
