Reverence for Arnold Palmer in San Diego, beyond
Arnold Palmer won the Masters four times, the British Open twice and the U.S. Open. Bryce Miller writes Palmer was a disarming wealth of talent and class, a presence to whom even the stiffest competitors showered with respect. He died Sunday. Ref. Source 2s.
My interview with Arnold Palmer offered me lessons in gratitude and grace
It was August of 2000, and I asked for a one-on-one with legendary golfer Arnold Palmer. To my surprise, he granted the request and spent part of his morning discussing everything from Tiger Woods to how it felt to see your skills deteriorate. Ref. Source 2f.
I lived for a time in Central Florida in the area where Arnold Palmer has retired. His contributions to the community are amazing. At least one hospital I remember being named after him and a women specific needs department named after his wife.
He gives back to the community on a regular basis and tries to avoid excessive attention over it.
