We are losing a lot of friends in the east with Japan being the only real partner around. So if the Philippines wants to bail let's welcome Burma into the American friendship with Asia.

I'm not sure an occupied country could really be called a friend. Certainly, we should be friends with as many nations as possible. Perhaps the first step toward that would be to cease instigating war between Pakistan and India. Then again, the US dollar is on the decline and China will no longer accept US currency to refuel carriers at their ports. So, likely we're going to be losing friends at an alarming pace as soon as the rest of the world catches on to the same scam Kissinger ran on Saudi Arabia. Also, since Congress overrode the veto for the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism act, all those folks who've been bombed can now sue the USA.
