Dioxins in U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish
Dioxins are highly toxic pollutants that accumulate in tissue fat. Almost all dioxins found in people who don’t work in toxic waste dumps or something similarly hazardous are believed to come from food, especially meat, milk, and fish, which account for about 95% of human exposure. We tend to only hear about it in the […] Ref. Source 7r.
I have been reading more on this and one book I would like to point out is the guide to eating sport fish in Ontario. It is produced by the Ministry of Ontario and is free it tell you how much of any type of fish your allowed per year based on the water it was caught in. That is the actual lake. I am sure many areas produce similar data if you can find it. So if it is in the lake then it is in the animals that feed near it. Might what to think about using the same eating guidelines. I think any one who has concerns about his might be wise to read up on how to be a vegan. Not 100 percent safe but should be lower in contaminants then any meat that has fat.
Actually I think it does. Basically most toxin is stored in fat. So for fish this mean fillet and remove the dark meat usually a strip down the middle of each side and the belly fat also some fish are fatty along the dorsal line. Other meats are harder as the fat is marbles in the meat. It does not remove all but it remove the most you can.
Just scary that the earth is this polluted.
