Corren covers Zinna's hand with his own and says, "Me too." He uses his free hand to signal Alena over. "Now I know you said you need to control your drinking. But one or two for either of us should not be a problem. And I for one wish to celebrate. Not just you, but the fact that all the Defenders of Clear Creek made it home in one piece." He asked Alena for an ale, and whatever was roasting over the fire for dinner.
Out of Character: : Kyrroeth, if you wish to post anything else, go for it. If not, I am fine with ending this scene. If any of the other players want to run some interaction scenes, with Corren or Zinna or anyone else, I look forward to it. Thank you all!
Out of Character: : Here is the re-posting…

Zinna keeps the hood of her cloak up as she enters Clear Creek. She does not want a big fuss made about her arrival. Not yet at least. It is almost dinner time so she goes to the Logger, pauses at the door to take a deep breath then enters. The background noise pauses as usual, when the regulars look to see who is arriving. As the door swings shut behind her she pulls back the hood and faces show all sorts of reactions, from relief to joy, to confusion. But overall there is a positive energy as a bunch of people cheer her return. But one voice stands out.
"Zinna!" Alena emerges from the crowd and embraces the bard fiercely. "Thank the Maker you're back!" She turns to the crowd with one arm protectively around Zinna and begins moving people aside. "Give her some space! She's obviously had a long journey and doesn't need scores of people pestering her. Quell, buy them a round to shut them up, please." The tavern keeper nods and begins drawing drinks. Zinna is led to the table reserved at this hour for the Defenders of Clear Creek, and a large glass of her usual appears, then Alena sits down.
"I'd love to hear all about where you've been, and what you've been doing, but I suspect you're curious about Corren, eh?" Zinna's blush and nod are all the answer needed. Alena's face looks both pleased and concerned. "He hasn't been the same since he got back from Durmista without you. Let me get a drink myself and I'll explain."
Once she has a large glass of water she sits back down. "Zinna, I wish I knew what happened out there. Because Corren's been acting… I'm not sure how to explain it. He's quicker to act, to decide, and even more willing to give up on talking people out of trouble and resorting to mixing it up with them. He's still doing good, helping out when people ask, has ended countless brawls and so on. But his usual cheerful manner is more subdued. Less likely to reveal itself." After a pause she adds, "Save for when he's been out in the wilds while on guard business, I don't think he's cooked once since he came back." She took a drink of her water and waited to Zinna to comment or ask questions.
Zinna pulls the hood of her green cloak back and grins. White flowers in her hair are a sharp contrast to the auburn tresses. She beams as she hears the warm welcome. Zinna is surprised to be escorted to the Defenders table by Alena. Thanking her for the wine she sips it as she listens to her speak about Corren. A worried frown is visible on her face.
The redhead has a thoughtful look on her face for a moment then she speaks. " Alena, I can't really say what happened out there. If he hasn't felt he should mention It I probably shouldn't either. I do not like hearing about his change of behavior. Most of it is my fault most likely. He has been worried about me. I need to speak with him Alena. Do you have any idea where I can find him at right now?"

Alena nods. "He'll be along, sooner or later. Still takes dinner here every night, chats with folks, the usual. But he's… not smiling as much. Not angry at anyone, so far as we can tell, and willing to help anyone who asks, just like he always has. But without the… witty repartee, banter… dare I say, his charm?" She grins slyly then adds in a hushed tone with a slight redness in her cheeks, "And don't fret. He hasn't forgotten you, that's for sure. There have been a few lasses in town who've, shall we say, tried to distract him. He has turned them down, gently, even kindly." She drinks some more water. "And whatever it is, even if you've done something, it's still his behavior. You're not to blame."
Out of Character: : After Zinna's next response, Corren will make his appearance. I will most likely get to it when I get to work this afternoon. Now that I've had my swim, time for lunch.
"Zinna, as ever, it is a delight to hear your voice", Leo is sitting at the table, enjoying a tankard of ale, but gets up to give her a warm hug, and then pull out a chair for the bard.
"I am afraid Alena is correct, he doesn't seem to be taking this absence well. He brightened up for a time when I confirmed that your… " He glances at Alena, "... Visit abroad went well. But as time went on with no further word… "
Leo shifts uncomfortably in his seat. "I assured him that you were fine, and would return soon, but I don't think he truly believed me. For now, I'm afraid I just returned from a trip to Durmista, and don't know where to find him. What say you Alena?"
Out of Character: ooh, not great timing. Assume my post goes before Corren's last? Not planning on being a third wheel here, Leo will beat a hasty retreat soon enough.

Zinna hugs Sir Leo back tightly. " It is good to see you as well. I feel the need to apologize to you. I know that I treated you very poorly when you first joined us. While I still have Ill feelings towards the father, I was very wrong about you. I consider you a good friend. Please accept my apology. "
Zinna notices Alena's cheeks redden. She remembers how friendly her and Corren were before. Zinna thinks " she is still interested in him". Zinna grins at Alena. " I'm glad to hear that he turned them down. I'm surprised anyone tried anything with him. This is a small town. Everyone should know that he and I are in a relationship. " She frowns after this. " I so hope he gets here soon. I want to see my Corren. I hope there is nothing wrong besides worry over my absence. "

"No need for all that, we didn't exactly meet under the most comfortable circumstances. But I thank you nonetheless."
"I haven't exactly settled down since we parted. Been making the run between here and Durmista fairly often recently. There's a good bit of negotiation and trade picking up, and the parties need a guide, guard, and/or mediator. But I find the work rewarding enough. We're forging relationships here that could last for a very long time."
"But I'm not the one you wanted to talk to, I'm sure Corren will be here shortly."
