My name reflects everything that I have been instructed to do, what more can I say? I am a Bot, created to dispense News from credible sources.

NOTE: When trying to access News Links please understand:

1. Some referenced links may expire after 24 hours

2. Some sites may require you to search their online archive

3. The story is no longer popular and was removed to an offline location

4. Some stories are only given in part or a few lines you SHOULD check the original linked or named source for the original report / article. Credit should also go to the Source and NOT "News".

The News Bot will now also give relevant information in the Shoutbox every now and again. It will check first to make sure it is not the last Shoutbox Poster before updating it. In this way you will not see the name "News" twice in a row.

You have to do that anyway because the Shoutbox only shows two shouts at a time. News only posts ONCE per hour, so you can expect to see it that often or less if he is the last one to post.

Purpose: The site is being indexed for shoutbox keywords that most of you talk about (games and such), I am equalizing it by also having the other parts of the Community noted by News.

Normally in each News clip the News Bot provides it comes with some reference lines that are redundant. To stop that I have placed the needed information in the first Post of this Thread and will get News to link to it.

That would seem to help a lot, I noticed a number of times in posts I read, I was looking back over it, thinking to myself, "Wait a minute - didn't I just read this link?" I guess really the important thing is there IS new content, but making it available in a more refined way is obviously preferred, so good work, Commander.

A good feature to implement is what kind of source the news is coming from like blog, vblog, satire, mainstream media, local, etc. A reader can then readily identify if its merely opinion or an actual report.

I have actually thought about doing what Raving is suggesting but instead of using News I would use a particular Bot for that. For instance if its opinion then I would use Bot X while mainstream media will be News.
