Comments: I observe this morning in one of the leading newspapers that there is a call to promote Mr Williams to COP. This officer has since his appointment, failed to curb the our galloping crime rate. When he was appointed it was promised that things will get better as he being a locally born and bred citizen was well suited to the task as he understood the mentality of the people here. However, since Mr Williams has taken charge the police has gradually established themselves as a law onto themselves as displayed in the you tube video of the calypso entitled Road Block He has also adopted the main principle of the politicians by making monthly statements, pulling the wool over the eyes of our ordinary citizens by constantly telling them that crime has fallen when in fact this is not so. Generally speaking under his control the public has lost more respect for members of the force, and more officers have in fact turned to criminal activities and have jumped onto the bandwagon of the criminals. In fact things have got worse and today the police has more or less little control of our crime scenario. Not only that everyday acts of lawlessness are on the increase. No lets be honest, this policeman has made not one iota of difference to our crime scene. Promotion has always been associated with personal achievement and merit. In this case these aspect are missing and instead of considering promoting Mr Williams he should be replace with another overseas commissioner of police. At present we have no suitable senior office to take his place. Moreover, the call for his promotion clearly demonstrate one of the things that is drastically wrong with the lack of logical reasoning by some of our citizens. They are still failing to face the reality of what is wrong and what going on here.
