Supreme Court reinstates President Trump's travel ban, but only for some immigrants. The action gives the president a major victory after a string of lower court defeats that cited religious discrimination against Muslims and questioned the national security rationale of his executive orders. Trump's scaled-back travel ban went into effect at 8 p.m. ET. Far fewer foreigners will be barred from entering the U.S. Under the scaled-down version of Trump's travel ban that went into effect on Thursday. First, this all stems from our broken immigration policy. Second, they are here illegally. Whatever else anyone says, that is a fact and they are breaking our laws. Third, if we as a nation are so up in arms about this then we need to pass laws to fix it.
President Obama did it with Executive Orders, which can be ended by the stroke of a pen. We need to elect a Congress to fix this, but we don't. My guess is we don't because there is no overwhelming desire to change it one way or another.
I'm pro immigration to a point. That point is when it artificially reduces wages and takes jobs away from American citizens. The claim is Americans won't do this or that job. The truth is Americans won't do those jobs because immigrants have reduced the wages to a degree its smarter to take unemployment and welfare. That has to stop too.
