When I was a student I got a job - a job for a few days. When I cashed the money(not dollars, of course - I'm from Romania), believe it or not I went to an exchange office and I changed one dollar. I still have it. Why I did it? I guess just for luck. I got the Idea from a Donald the Duck cartoon - his uncle had a lucky coin - and I promised myself that I'll have one lucky coin too ... Unfortunately, at the exchange they haven't got coins, so I got banknote.

I believe money is for spending not saving...
In truth, I am not a very sentimental person. If I owned a business with a public area, I might save the first dollar bill and frame it, but then what if the first payment is with a $20? Would I frame that? These days most things cost more than $1.
I have earned some money myself on the side, but it isn't paid with cash in such a way to really know which was the first dollar. Do I cash the check and take one of the dollars and frame it symbolically? I know I didn't.

Comments: We are providing a check to this new grad for design work done for my husband's business minus the $1 so she can put it up on her wall. Guess I must be really old!
